~MY LIFE~People often think I'm more well off than them, but truly, thats not true at all. Living in a semi-detached house does not equate rich at all, considering that my parents only own half of it, and it's pretty run-down, only worth its land area. In fact, we already sold the house and are DOWNgrading to a HDB. My parents don't earn much too, in fact my father was retrenched for a few years, and just when he got a job as HR this year, the economy went spiraling due to the stupid crisis in America.
Yes, I may be seemingly be wearing branded goods all over, my addidas watch, limited edition crumbler bag, nike shoe, braun buffel wallet, but none of these are what I bought, they are my birthday present and gifts from my family. I know it might seem overexpensive for gifts, but yearly, I don't really get any birthday presents at all, aside from presents from my family, I don't usually get anything from friends at all, only very occasionally, one or two presents. However, I don't ask for much, it's only the thought that counts.
My money, I only seem to have that much because I save up. I don't spend them, at least most of the time. I even skip lunch to save money! And if you ppl didn't know, I too gave tuition to finance myself. Saving is the key to amassing money, but sadly, few people practise that, hence they complain often bout being broke and stuff... Failing to plan = Planning to fail (fanie's pw), seems totally true eh?
Well, my social life is also very little. I live a sheltered life, I admit, but sheltered from what? To me, it's as if I'm sheltered from the outside world, from people I can make friends with and hang out to have fun. What's the point? It's as good as saying, " You're not allowed to have any social life, remain a bachelor till you die." Well, thanks to my lousy social life, I don't go out often, hence, I save alot of money, thats the only plus.
SO please don't envy my life, it's pathetic, really. You wouldn't wanna experience it, theres no fun in it at all... Nobody likes a life full of restrictions and being alone most of the time. It sucks.
